REFLECTIVE SECTION

Learning to speak English has always been a challenge in my life, but I really think that if I put all my effort someday I will learn this language.

The first week we started doing an activity to find forms in a draw, it was entertaining but at same time a little stressful because was difficult to find all the forms, but it helped me learn new vocabulary. Besides, the teacher did an activity to know us better as a group, it was about introducing ourselves. Everyone had to mention their name, what we fear, what we hate, a little about us. Later we had to do an activity to prove how we knew and remember of English 3. The first chapter was "Achieving goals" which is about knowing people who have achieved great goals as Francis Sommer who could learn 94 languages.

The topic of the chapter number 2 was about “Places and communities”, if was about the best and worst places to life. We did an activity that was about making a conversation to discuss the good and bad points of the places we would like to live. Each group had to come to the front and present to the class the conversation. It was a nice activity, but as always was a little scary come to the front of the class. But I think that these activities encourage you to be less afraid of speaking English in public, because if someday I want to work in a multinational company, speak this language will be a thing of every day.

The chapter number 3 was about “Stories”, in this chapter the teacher made an activity that was about creating a story or legend in groups. In my group a colleague had an idea about a fairytale. The fairytale was about a “nerd” girl who had never been in love, she had been studying the forest and one of her trips to the forest she met her prince, and like every fairy tale they lived happily ever after. One of the things that the teacher mentioned is that every human being should do 3 things: planting a tree, have a child and publish something, and she invited us to write something, this could be a story or a legend. In my case I have a very creative mind, so it would be easy to write a bedtime story or something like that.

In this week we made the first E-Magazine that was about “The important of learning a second language”. At the beginning was a little difficult because I didn´t know how to put my ideas in the writing but later it becomes easier. We had to put in practice all the grammar that we had been learning during these 4 weeks. The topic of the E-Magazine made me really think about the important of English in my life, especially in my future professional life. All my life the learning of a second language has been difficult but I think that if you put your maximum effort you can make your weakness in ability.

Moving forward was the topic of Unit 4, I think for most of people one of the most important goals in their life is to advance, to go further to succeed in life. Personally, from a very young age I have planned my future, I do know what I want and what are the ways to achieve it. My biggest goal is to be a successful person, not for others but for myself. My biggest dream is to have an eternal family, have a husband and children who love me, and professionally speaking having a job that allows me to give my family a good way of life.

One of the readings was about how to be a superhero, it is not easy if you haven’t super powers, but also we can put our talents and take actions that benefit society. Even if I had the opportunity to have a super power would be to cure any disease, because this would help many people in this world.

This week we had to do a presentation about a topic we would like to share. As always it was a bit difficult in my case because I get very nervous when I have to do a presentation in front of others.

My classmate Daniel and I chose to talk about April Fool's Day.

At first I thought that we would not go well with the presentation, but at the end we could overcome nerves. Actually, I think the teacher and classmates enjoyed the presentation because it is a topic that has been talked about in the Unit 3. To make the presentation more interesting we put some videos about jokes that are performed on that day, and the classmates could enjoy it a lot because the videos were pretty funny.

There are always situations that make you a little discouraged, that happened to me for a long time. But this week I decided that whatever happens I am going to be happy. This week I enjoyed classes like never before done in this quarter, although some topics were a little difficult to understand I putt the best attitude and I could discover that If I put the best attitude I can grow personally and professionally.

This week Unit 5 was completed, this unit was about ways to make money, I think that making money not is so easy but there are many people who are lucky enough to get it without doing much , such as the heirs. One of the readings was about people who have much money but they give it to charity instead of living extravagantly , which made me analyze whether I came to have so much money if I really be able to share it, and I did think that dedicates money for people in need would be the best decision.

Unit 6 was spoken of the biography of some people.Over time there have been people who have made great actions in the world, people who have done extraordinary things and who are easy to admire. For example one of the most influential people in my life has been Mozart, the immense talent he had was so extraordinary that even today many people know who he was, and now his musical works are valuable, his biography is amazing and he is worthy of admiration. But also I believe that every person can be extraordinary, independently  whether the world realize their actions, all that matters is achieve personal success. You do not need the admiration of others, you just have to do what you believe and be yourself, and if you ever you get be recognized by others it means that beyond your own satisfaction you won success in the world.

The topic of unit 7 was The nature world.

It's amazing to get up every morning and see the beautiful day that God has done for us, every bird, tree, sun, clouds, every one of the things of nature that surround us are incredible and in many times we can’t to believe.

 

Truth that human beings are greatly blessed by each of these things, and often we do not value does things. For that reason today we have lot diseases like The Greenhouse Effect or Global Warming. Unfortunately we are unable to love nature, even though we live through the nature, because thank it we have oxygen to breathe, foods to eat, water to drink and trees to make houses. But we still have time to reverse this damage and help stop these problems for the benefit of all life on the planet.

The Unit 8 talks about Problems and issues that exist today in nature, technology and economics.

One of the biggest problems I see is the lack of communication between humans, and I think all the problems that exist today are because of lack effective communication. The technology has advanced so greatly and now it is not necessary to be face to face to talk, social networks have taken the place of personal communication in little words the world of communication. This kind of communication is not bad all times, for example if a person is in another country this person can communicate with his or her family, friends, classmates or coworkers, but in the other side there are times in which this type of communication makes that the people have misunderstandings with others and other problem is that this communication makes that some people lose contact with their loved ones in their same household.
